Really tasty, reasonably authentic Mexican food in a tiny restaurant on Westcott St., in Syracuse University’s “hippie” district. Westcott St. was the counter-culture center of the area in the 60’s and a lot of the original residents just never moved out. 😎
Everything tastes freshly made. The chips and salsa are really excellent, as is the catfish burrito and vegetarian black bean soup. However, I like my guacamole better than theirs.
Both the restaurant and the tables are tiny, and the line routinely stretches out the front door, however if you have some patience it’s well worth the wait.
Caveats: They deliver, but don’t bother. I’ve tried several times and it’s always cold. If you need an Alto-Cinco fix, drive over and pick it up.
