A restaurant review for an amusement park? Am I insane?
Nope.
Knobels is a time warp right back to the 50′s and 60′s in every way. The rides are almost all reconditioned and rebuilt classics like Bumper Cars, Wooden Roller Coasters, a huge Ferris Wheel, Carousels, a number of water-based rides, and a bunch of other too numerous to mention. And it’s set in a beautiful wooded area in Pennsylvania.
Oddly enough, the food is impressive too! It’s all real. And most of it is actually healthy, well-balanced and tasty! I never thought I’d say this, but I had a great Mexican salad with plus black beans, beautifully seasoned shredded chicken and a few taco chips and it was awesome. If someone had offered me a plate of chicken wings instead, I would have turned them down.
Knobel’s is like going back to a time before Fast Food, high pressure and huge lines. You can wander around, take your time, enjoy the benches and the shade, get terrified on the wooden coasters or take a really quiet, tree-lined chair lift ride up the side of a hill.
It’s a really friendly-feeling place and I plan on returning often.
